So far, 44 editions of the London Marathon have taken place, and talented runners have featured in the competition. Olympic champions Chris Brasher and John Disley founded the iconic London Marathon in the year 1981. After that, this Marathon was categorized as one of the Seven World Marathon Majors and also the oldest one.

In the year 2023, Kelvin Kiptum from Kenya surpassed the past winners and became the world record holder with a 2:01.25 time.

On the other hand, Paula Radcliffe from the United Kingdom holds the world record of 2:15.25 hours in the year 2003. Since 2003, no other Women’s runner has been able to break Paula Radcliffe’s record.
