Draw and the Prize Money
The Draw is when the players get to know who they will be facing in their first round. It gives them an idea to prepare for the best. The draw is usually revealed a few days before the main tournament. As per the draw, in the first round of Men’s and Women’s singles, 64 players will be participating.
In men’s and women’s doubles, a total of 32 pairs each will be participating, and the mixed doubles features 32 pairs. Top players like Yasmine Hamza, Katharina Fink, Matteo Bellucci, and Kevin Strobl are going to face each other, giving some of the most thrilling matches to fans.
This year, the YONEX Italian Open Badminton has a total Prize fund of $5000. The winner will get $500-$600 as the prize, while the runner-up will end up with $275- $ 350. The semi-finalist gets up to $150 in Men’s and Women’s singles and doubles.
It is a modest amount of Prize Money, but what is more important is that the players will earn ranking points by getting a chance to improve their ranking. This motivates the players to give their best performances on the court.
