The season might seem to be coming to an end, but we still have some major Upcoming Football Tournaments in 2025. We are around the corner as domestic leagues, and the Champions League is at its business end. There are new teams that have announced themselves to the world, and well-known teams are in the dust.
UEFA and FIFA organised various competitions for both clubs and countries. The new format was introduced in the Champions League this season. FIFA also replied with a new version of the FIFA Club World Cup, stating that it is the best club competition in history.
The last few games of the domestic league are left, and we haven’t got the champions except for the Ligue 1, where PSG are the champions. UEFA Champions League is heating up with Barcelona being the favourites to win it.
Major Upcoming Football Tournaments in 2025
UEFA Nations League (June 4- 8)
The final four teams are Germany, Portugal, Spain, and France. Finals will be on 8th June. The location for the tournament is Germany. Spain are the favourites to win the competition.
UEFA U21 European Championship (June 11 – June 27)
25th edition of the UFEA U21 European Championship is a great platform for the future stars to showcase their talent. Slovakia will host the tournament at eight different venues.
FIFA Club World Cup (June 14 – July 13)
This will be the first edition of the new format. FIFA Club World Cup 2025 is going to happen in the United States with 32 teams participating. Teams like Real Madrid, Man City, Juventus, PSG, FC Bayern, Atletico Madrid, and more.
UFEA Women’s Euros (July 2 – July 27)
It is the 14th edition of the women’s championship and the third edition since the tournament was expanded to 16 teams. Switzerland is the host for this tournament.
UEFA Super Cup (August 13)
The winners of the UEFA Champions League will take on the winner os the UEFA Europa League. It is a one-day final. Stadio Friuli in Italy will host the game.
FIFA U20 World Cup (Sep 27 – Oct 19)
This tournament allows players of less than age 20 to participate. A total of 24 teams will be participating in the tournament, which is going to be hosted by Chile.
African Cup of Nations (Dec 21 – Jan 18)
Morocco will be the host. Especially after so many African players have left their mark in world football, it seems to be one of the most interesting platforms for African players. Twenty-four teams will be participating in the tournament, with nine venues in cities hosting the game.
Additionally, the domestic league of each country starts in the month of August. Champions League 2025-26 will commence from the first or second week of September. Besides this, there will be 2-3 international breaks in between all this.
