All good things do come to an end, as Casemiro is set to leave Manchester United at the end of the season. He joined Manchester United during the summer transfer window of 2022 after an outstanding spell at Real Madrid. There, he formed an iconic midfield trio with Toni Kroos and Luka Modrić. Together, they won five Champions League titles.
The move to Manchester United was a shocking one, but it really went through. Manchester United got him for £70m, and now he has more than 140 appearances for the English Club. The Brazilian surely has not enjoyed that great time at Manchester United, but surely had his moments at the club, which include goals in big matches.

Casemiro to leave Manchester United after four years at the end of the season
One of the best memories for Casemiro would be the opening goal he scored in the 2023 Carabao Cup final win. Newcastle United were the opponents. In his first season, Manchester United ended in third position on the Premier League points table. It was the last year that the new co-owner of Manchester United, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, spoke about how some players in the team are not good enough and were overpaid by the board.
Basically, £375,000-a-week wages paid to the Brazilian, which made him one of the highest earners at the club. In 2024, when Manchester United lost 4-0 to Palace, a lot of pundits had their say on Casemiro. One of them was Liverpool’s Jamie Carragher. His famous lines, “Leave football before football leaves you”. He also did not start that year’s FA Cup final, which Manchester United eventually won against their city rivals, Manchester City.
In the video that he posted, where he announced his departure, Casemiro said, “I will carry Manchester United with me throughout my entire life”. He also spoke about how it’s time to say goodbye, but create memories in the time left. Now the question is, how does Manchester United fill this gap? There are also rumours about their star midfielder, Bruno Fernandes, leaving the club.
