Shreyas Iyer is “Out of Danger” after suffering a fatal injury in the 3rd ODI against Australia

After being 2-0 down in the three-match ODI series, India were playing Australia in the final ODI at the  Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney. Shreyas went for the catch on the bowling of Harshit Rana and completed the catch. He injured himself, and things did not look good. Currently, Shreyas Iyer is “Out of Danger” after suffering a fatal injury in the 3rd ODI.

It was the last ODI, and nothing would have changed as Australia already won the series. The Indian team was playing for its pride. It was the last match for Rohit Sharma and Virat in Australia. The series did not go as they planned, but the final match surely did. Australia won the series 2-1, and it was the first series lost for Shubman Gill as the captain of the Indian team.

It was the Australian captain, Mitchell Marsh, who again won the toss. He decided Australia would bat first. Marsh and Head gave a good start to their team as they put up 61 runs for the first wicket. It was the 34th over, which Harshit Rana was bowling. Alex Carey hit a shot, and it went up in the air.

Shreyas Iyer was running for the catch, and he eventually completed a mind-blowing catch. His landing did not look good as he was on the ground and was struggling. The medical team was quick to respond and came running onto the ground. He was taken for X-rays. After the reports came, there was internal bleeding in the Indian batter, and he was admitted to the ICU. Surely, he was in a critical situation, but later on Sunday, he was out of danger.

The Indian T20 team captain, Suryakumar Yadav, was on call and was continuously taking updates on the condition of Shreyas Iyer. He is currently in observation, and he is out of the ICU. Shreyas Iyer is not a part of the T20 squad as India will play five T20 matches against Australia, which will start from the 29th of October in Canberra.
