Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah holds the record for the fastest Champions League hat-trick and he did it comimg off the bench. It was matchday four, and Liverpool were all set to play against Rangers in a Group A match. Liverpool were playing away from home, it was at Rangers’ home stadium. Mohamed Salah came on the pitch in the 68th minute, replacing Darwin Nunez.
Just ten minutes later, he scored his first goal of the game and Liverpool’s fourth. After four minutes, he again found the back of the net. This was his second goal in the match. He completed his hat-trick by scoring a goal in the 81st minute. Salah created history and became the player to score the fastest Champions League hat-trick in a span of six minutes and 12 seconds. Previously, this record belonged to Dinamo Zagreb’s Baftimbi Gomis, who did this miracle against Lyon in the 2010/2011 Champions League season.
This season in the Champions League is full of magical individual performances. A total of five hat-tricks have been scored in the Champions League after matchday five. Kylian Mbappe has scored two, first against Kairat Almaty and then against Olympiacos. Vitinha also scored a hat-trick on the same day against Spurs. The other two hat-tricks are scored by Fermin Lopez against Olympiacos and Victor Osimhen against Ajax.
