The International Cricket Council (ICC), which manages all the cricketing leagues as well as sets the rules and regulations, has banned the United States of America Cricket Board. Now the question arises, why did ICC banned USA Cricket? There are multiple reasons for this. It also highlights how the fans and the players will react to this decision.
Basically, ICC had already provided them with the cricket board with a notice about how the board was functioning. We all know, the United States cricket team was featuring in the ICC events, and they were a promising team with great talents, and they showed it after they defeated Pakistan in the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup.
Why ICC Banned USA Cricket? Full Rules, Reasons, and Suspension Explained
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has a set of rules and regulations that the cricket boards need to follow to be a member of the ICC. They had already warned the USA cricket board to keep proper management of their board. This includes transparency in their elections, the governance should be decent, and the finances should be managed properly. The ICC had already put them on notice during an annual meeting in 2024.
In simple words, “on notice” means it is a warning given to the board for transparent management and functioning. The ICC also gives a decent amount of time to the board to settle its issues. Despite giving extra time to fix the issue, the United States of America cricket board failed to do so. This is the reason why the ICC banned the USA cricket board.

Now what’s next for the USA cricket board? They will be able to play the events which will be hosted by ICC, but they won’t be able to have the voting rights, as only members have those rights. They would also not get any money from the International Cricket Council. This might not have that impact on the fans as they will enjoy their team playing the games, but it is a big setback for the board.
