Top 5 Most Experienced Elite Panel of ICC Referees in 2025?
Ranjan Madugalle
He is surely the most experienced person on the list. Ranjan Madugalle was born on 22 April 1959 and has played for the Sri Lankan National team as well. So far, he has been a referee in more than 170 T20Is and 200 test matches.
He was the first referee to officiate more than 400 ODIs. In 2007, he won the ICC Referee of the Year. He is also the one to officiate the most test matches. His journey started in 1993.
Jeff Crowe
The second most experienced man on the list is a New Zealand former superstar, Jeff Crowe. He was born on 14th September, 1958, and is the referee to officiate the most T20 International matches, which is more than 200.
This is his 21st year as the match referee. Currently, apart from being in the Elite Panel of ICC Referees, he is the Head of Officiating Standards at New Zealand Cricket.
Javagal Srinath
The former Indian pacer, Javagal Srinath, is also among the five people in the Elite Panel of ICC Referees. Basically, he has more than 500 wickets for India in International cricket.
Javagal Srinath was born on 31st August 1969 and is the youngest in this list. He started his journey in 2006, and since then has appeared in more than 400 international matches. Currently, he is also a member of the BCCI’s Cricket Advisory Committee.
Andy Pycroft
Born on 6th June, 1956, Andy Pycroft is the oldest man on the list. The former Zimbabwe player has represented his nation in more than 50 matches. In 2018, he was given the Zimbabwe Cricket Lifetime Service Award.
He started his journey in 2009 and has been the referee in more than 400 international matches. Andy Pycroft is in second place for refereeing the most T20 international matches. He is also currently the Zimbabwe Cricket Director of Cricket Operations.
Richie Richardson
Richardson was born on 29th December 1962. He started his match refereeing journey in 2016. Basically, he was a former captain of the West Indies Cricket team and played more than 300 International matches.
In 2015, he was in the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame, and he also won the West Indies’ Sportsperson of the Year in 1992. Richie Richardson is also a West Indies Cricket Board ambassador. Surely, he can contribute to the game in every possible way.
