After an embarrassing defeat in the first test match. India is already to face a more embarrassing defeat in the second test. At the end of day four in the South Africa vs India test series, the South African team is almost nearing a clean sweep in the two-match series. Only a miracle or extraordinary batting from the Indian batters can tie the test series.
The last and final day of the second test between India and South Africa will be a mountain to climb for the Indian batters. They will have to score 522 runs in a day, and they only have eight wickets in hand. On the other side of the story, South Africa just needs eight wickets to win 2-0. Wiaan Mulder score 35* in 69. Tristan Stubbs got out on 94 runs as South Africa decided to declare on 260/5. They set a target of 549 runs for the Indian team.
The Indian openers came to bat, and before the day ended, both of them were sent back to the pavilion by the South African bowlers. India ended day four with 27/2 as night watchman Kuldeep Yadav and Sai Sudharsan are at the crease. South Africa is in the driver’s seat, and if they win the match on day five, which they most likely will, they will win a test series in India after 25 years. Now there will also be questions about the coach and the selection committee, but let us see if the remaining batters pull off a miracle; if they do, it will be the most incredible run chase.
