Basically, it was the first day of the Kinoshita Group Japan Open, where Naomi Osaka was taking on Wakana Sonobe. It was a Round of 32 match between the Japanese players. The Utsubo Tennis Center in Osaka, Japan, was the venue for the match, whereas the date was 13th October. The outdoor hard court was the surface on which the match was played.

When we look at the first set, it ended in 6-0 for Naomi Osaka. It was surely a pure dominance from her as she outplayed Wakana Sonobe in every possible department, as the scoreline states. Naomi Osaka had five aces in the first set, whereas she also had a double fault. She also converted three out of the six break points. Osaka won all of her 1st serve points. It was a great first set from Naomi Osaka.
The second set was quite better for the 17-year-old, Wakana Sonobe, as she put up a fight and had some of the answers. Although she lost the second set 6-4, she also lost the match, but put up a great show for her audience. Wakana Sonobe got a wildcard entry but could not take advantage of it. Now she is out of the Kinoshita Group Japan Open.

One thing is for sure, Wakana Sonobe was facing one of the toughest opponents as Naomi Osaka is one of the established players in Japan. Wakana Sonobe is surely one of the talents for the future. She will learn a lot from this. Surely, the lack of experience in playing in high-pressure situations will improve as she moves ahead in her career. This is surely a learning for the young star, Wakana Sonobe.
