Top 5 Biggest India Jersey Sponsorship Deals
Oppo (2017–2019)
The Chinese brand, Oppo, had given the biggest jersey Sponsorship Deal to the Indian team. Eventually, the deal was worth ₹1,079 crore for five years. For every bilateral match, Oppo used to pay off ₹4.61 crores, and for every ICC match, it was ₹1.51 crores. The deal ended just after two years, as it was looking unsustainable for Oppo. India didn’t win any major ICC event during that time.
Apollo Tyres (Present)
India finally has a jersey sponsor for the next three years, which is till 2027. Apollo Tyres is the jersey sponsor, as they have a deal worth ₹579 crores, which is more than 62% of what Dream 11 was paying. They will pay ₹4.5 crores per bilateral match and ₹1.72 crores per ICC event match. There are a lot of ICC events in the next years, hope India wins them.
Byju’s (2019–2023)
They were the jersey sponsor when Oppo pulled out from their sponsorship in 2019. The deal was worth around ₹440 crores. Byju’s paid ₹5.07 crores for every home game, and it was ₹1.7 crores per ICC event game. Initially, they had a deal till 2022, but extended it for one more year. Eventually, due to financial difficulties and governance issues, they asked BCCI to terminate the deal.
Dream11 (2023–2025)
India could have continued with Dream 11 till the end of this year and maybe beyond, but with the government banning the real-money gaming applications, their sponsorship was brought down. They had a deal worth ₹358 crores with the BCCI. Dream basically paid ₹3 crores for every home match, whereas ₹1 crore for every away match or an ICC event match.
Sahara India Pariwar (2001–2013)
Basically, Sahara India Pariwar has been the longest-serving jersey sponsor for the Indian Cricket Team. Their sponsorship lasted for more than 12 years. After 2010, Sahara India Pariwar paid ₹3.34 crores for every international game. India has won the most trophies as the jersey sponsor.
ICC Champions Trophy (2002), ICC T20 World Cup (2007), Asia Cup (2010), ICC Cricket World Cup (2011), and ICC Champions Trophy (2013) are the trophies. The deal ended in 2013 due to the financial troubles and legal issues between BCCI and them.
