51 Crores cash prize for the ICC Women’s World Cup-winning Team India, announces BCCI

There is more good news for all the players, selectors, and coaching staff of the Indian Women’s team, as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) gives them an additional cash prize along with the World Cup cash prize. Basically, the Indian Women’s team won their first ever Women’s World Cup after defeating South Africa Women in Navi Mumbai on 2nd November by 52 runs. 51 Crores cash prize for the ICC Women’s World Cup-winning Team India, announces BCCI.

From this World Cup, the prize money was increased by the International Cricket Council (ICC). After the 2025 World Cup, the Indian Women’s team will receive a total of 40 crores as their prize money. Apart from that, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announces that the team and the management will receive an additional 51 crores as well for this magical achievement that the team has pulled off.

The stage was all set for the Indian Women to take on the South African Women’s team at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. As expected, the ground was fully sold out, and each fan came to support the women in blue. Indian Women posted a target of 299 with 87 runs from Shafali Varma, and Deepti Sharma also scored a fifty.

Certainly, when the South African batters were playing, it looked like India were 20-25 runs short. Laura Wolvaardt was unstoppable as she had a cracker of a World Cup. She scored a century in the semi-final as well. Laura Wolvaardt scored a century in the final as well. Her team was short of 52 runs as Harmanpreet Kaur took a match-winning catch. Deepti Sharma took a fifer in the final. She was the Player of the tournament, whereas Shafali was the Player of the match in the final.

Since the appointment of Jay Shah, now the ICC President, he has helped and approved a lot of things for the India Women’s team. We have to take a moment and thank him as well. This surely will give more to Women’s Cricket and is a start to a new era. All these girls deserve so much and we need to give them all the credit.
