Premier League 2025/2026 Matchday 19: Only Arsenal gets the win from the traditional top six as the rest of the teams all draw

With everything getting closer and closer to the title, it seems that, finally, this might be the year that Arsenal have their hands on the Premier League trophy. The Premier League 2025/2026 Matchday 19 and the first match for all traditional top six teams looked similar, apart from one, and that was Arsenal. They were the only team that did not drop any points and got all three in the top six teams. This surely indicates that Arsenal are far ahead of the other teams.

It all started with Chelsea playing against Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge. Bournemouth got the first goal in the match as Brooks was the goal scorer in the 6th minute. Chelsea were back in the match by the 23rd minute as they scored two goals, first from Cole Palmer and then from Enzo Fernandez. Just after four minutes, it was 2-2 as Justin Kluivert scored the goal. Eventually, the match ended in a 2-2 draw as Chelsea had just won one of their last seven Premier League matches. The shocker came when Chelsea parted ways with manager Enzo Marseca on the 1st day of 2026, and it was surprising.

Arsenal were all set to play against Aston Villa for the second time in the month. Aston Villa got the better of them the first time. This Arsenal team was playing without their main man, Declan Rice, and it didn’t feel like one. They thrashed Aston Villa 4-1 at the Emirates and showed why they are the best in the world right now. At the same time, Manchester United were playing Wolves. Before coming to this match, Wolves had been winless in more than their last seven matches. They came to Old Trafford and secured a point as the match ended 1-1.

Liverpool were playing Leeds United at Anfield, Brentford were playing Spurs at the Gtech Community Stadium, and Manchester City were playing Sunderland at the Stadium of Light. All three matches ended in goalless draws. The teams would be really disappointed as they should have gotten the three points. This is surely not the start that all teams wanted in the first match of the new year.

We are halfway through the Premier League 2025/2026 season, as 19 matchdays are done. Arsenal are enjoying a four-point lead and sit at the top of the table. Manchester City, Aston Villa, and Liverpool are in the top four so far. Chelsea and Manchester United are on the fifth and the sixth place respectively. Spurs sit in 12th place and now need to change their gear.
