For every football fan, the most-awaited day is here, and it is the day of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Draw. The date for the draw is 5th December. Basically, the Kennedy Center is in Washington, United States of America. The FIFA World Cup 2026 Draw will commence at 12 PM local time, whereas it will be 10:30 PM as per India Standard Time. Eventually, the United States, Canada, and Mexico will be the co-hosts of this edition of the World Cup.

Argentina is the defending champion as they won the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar. This World Cup is also the one that might be the one that will be most viewed, as this might be the last World Cup, featuring football greats such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Luka Modric, Kevin de Bruyne, and more.

To date, we have a total of 42 teams that have already booked their special in the FIFA World Cup 2026. We still have four teams who will make their place through the European Qualifiers. Lastly, two teams will go through the Intercontinental playoffs. This is how we will get the total of 48 teams that will participate in the 98th edition of the FIFA World Cup.

There are a total of four pots. Each pot has twelve teams in it. The three hosts are put in pot one. Basically, the next nine teams are the best-ranked teams in the FIFA rankings. It is the same for pots two, three, and four. We will see a total of 12 groups, and the top two teams of each group will qualify for the Round of 32. Eventually, the best eight 3rd-place teams also get a place in the round of 32.

Let us have a look at the four pots:

1st Pot:

Canada, Mexico, USA, Spain, Argentina, France, England, Brazil, Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany

2nd Pot:

Croatia, Morocco, Colombia, Uruguay, Switzerland, Japan, Senegal, Iran, South Korea, Ecuador, Austria, and Australia

3rd Pot:

Norway, Panama, Egypt, Algeria, Scotland, Paraguay, Tunisia, Ivory Coast, Uzbekistan, Qatar, and South Africa

4th Pot:

Jordan, Cape Verde, Curacao, Ghana, Haiti, and New Zealand. Four teams will come through the European playoffs, and two will come through the Intercontinental playoffs.
