The referee straightaway had his say and did not hesitate to show a direct card to Idrissa Gueye. Eventually, the Everton team was down to 10 players as they also lost their club captain, Coleman, due to injury just three times before the red card incident. This is surely not the first time that a player has been red-carded for committing an offence against his own teammate in the Premier League.
Just ten minutes later, after this chaos, Everton scored a goal. The Everton team surely defended like a team with a player down.
