The news that the Indian fans did not want to listen to is now confirmed. Shubman Gill to miss the 2nd test against South Africa that starts on the 22nd of November in Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. Rishabh Pant, who is the vice captain, will lead the team. The main and most important question is who will replace the injured Shubman Gill in the second test.
It was the first test match when Shubman Gill got an injury to his neck and did not continue. The medical team did not want to take any risks and carried out the test further on the Indian captain. Now it is clear that Gill has no chance of playing the match, as it would be better not to take a risk with the player.

Shubman Gill to miss the 2nd test against South Africa: Who replaces him?
Surely, the result of the first test match was no less than an embarrassment for the coach, Gautam Gambhir. Under him, India has lost more test matches than winning. Also, it was the second time that the Indian team was not able to chase down a target of less than 150 in a test match. He surely needs to come up with a plan in the second test that gives India the win.
There are three options that the Indian team can go with for replacing the Indian captain, Shubman Gill. First up, there is Sai Sudharsan, who understands the number four role well. He played against England and now has a chance to redeem himself. At this moment, Sai Sudharsan is the most favourite candidate to replace Gill and get the number four spot in the second test match.
Nitish Kumar Reddy is the other option that the Indian team can go with in the second test. He can surely give batting as well as bowling, as he has proved himself in the past matches. The last and the least favourite player is Devdutt Padikkal. So far, he has just played three matches in the test format and has one half-century.
