Basically, Curacao had Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, and Bermuda in their CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying group. They started their qualifying journey by playing their first match against Trinidad & Tobago. The match ended in a 0-0 and four days later they played their second match against Bermuda. Curacao won the match 3-2 as Chong scored two goals and Noslin hit the winning goal.

Their next match was against the best-ranked side in the group, Jamaica, at their home. They won the match 2-0 with Comenecia and Gorre scoring. They again drew their match 1-1 against Trinidad & Tobago. Next up, it was Bermuda away from home, and it was a goal feast for Curacao. They won the match 7-0. There were six different scorers in the match for them. This score also helped their goal difference.

Now comes the most important match for Curacao. One small mistake could have spoiled their dream of playing in the World Cup. They were facing Jamaica, away from home. Only one point separated the two teams. It was a just-win match for Jamaica, and only a point was enough for Curacao to get a World Cup ticket. Basically, it was evident that they won’t leave the stadium without a World Cup ticket, and they got one. The match ended in a 0-0 draw, and Curacao created history.
