The Indian Women’s team squad, which included coach Amol Muzumdar, captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma, and Shafali Varma, travelled to Delhi a day before to meet the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. It all started with India’s team, Harmanpreet Kaur, remembering the last time they met the Prime Minister.

I still remember when we met you in 2017. At that time, we did not come with a trophy. But it is a matter of great honour for us that this time, for something we have been working so hard for so many years, we have brought the trophy here

The Prime Minister was very proud of the Indian Women’s team and applauded all players and management for their efforts in the World Cup. He also spoke about how cricket has an impact on our country.
