SSEN Joins Race for FIFA World Cup 2026 and 2030 TV Rights
The FIFA World Cup is one of the most-viewed competitions throughout the world. When we talk about the 2018 edition of the FIFA World Cup, it had more than 3.57 billion viewers, which was almost half of the world’s population. When we particularly talk about the final of the FIFA World Cup 2022, there were around 1.5 billion viewers watching on television. This was the record in itself.
JioCinema was the official broadcaster of the FIFA World Cup 2022 in India. For the next two editions, that is, the FIFA World Cup 2026 and the FIFA World Cup 2026, Shrachi Sports Entertainment Network (SSEN) has bid for their rights. They will provide free live-streaming of the FIFA World Cup 2026 in India. The company is currently valued at around USD 2 million. Tamal Ghosal, the chairman of Shrachi Sports Entertainment Network (SSEN), said this:
The bid is more than a business move – it is a commitment to inclusivity and reshaping the future of football consumption in the region. By offering the FIFA World Cup streaming free to fans, we are democratising access to the game and laying the foundation for a long-term legacy that inspires generations
With a new format and a total number of teams increased to 48, the viewership will surely increase. One of the other reasons for the viewership getting a spike will be the reason for being Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi’s last dance. Both GOAT’s will play their last FIFA World Cup 2026.
