The United Arab Emirates got the start they dreamed of in this must-win game. Their openers, Alishan Sharafu and the captain, Muhammad Waseem, put on 88 runs for the first wicket. Alishan Sharafu scored 51 runs in 38 balls before Jiten Ramanandi got him out.
Muhammad Waseem was their best player in terms of getting runs, as he scored 69 runs in 54 balls. Muhammad Zohaib and Harshit Kaushik had small cameos. The UAE put on 172/5 in their 20 overs. Jiten Ramanandi took two wickets for Oman.
Oman lost their first in the first over itself. Later, they did not look comfortable as their middle order just collapsed. Hammad Mirza, Wasim Ali, and Shah Faisal all had single-digit scores. They did not look to take control of the game at any moment.
Junaid Siddique was the pick of the bowlers as he took four wickets in his spell of four overs and just gave 23 runs. Oman were all out on 130 runs as Muhammad Rohid Khan took the last wicket.
There were a lot of players who deserved to win the player of the match awards, such as the captain Muhammad Waseem for his 69-run knock or Junaid Siddique for his four wickets. Eventually, Alishan Sharafu won the Man of the Match award.
Now, the United Arab Emirates will play Pakistan in the next match, which will be an important match for both teams for a place in the last four. Oman is out of the Asia Cup 2025.
