This was the second match of Group A and the fourth match of the Asia Cup 2025, where the two-time winners, the Pakistan team, were facing the Oman team. The Dubai International Cricket Stadium was the venue for this match, whereas the date was 12th September. Eventually, at the end, Pakistan beat the first-timers, Oman, by 93 runs.
The Pakistan captain, Salman Agha, won the toss and made a surprise decision. Basically, the venue where many captains decide to chase, he elected to bat first. Pakistan left out two of their experience player Haris Rauf and Hasan Ali. It was a great moment for the Oman team as this was their first match ever in the Asia Cup. Asia Cup 2025 4th Match: Pakistan beat the first-timers Oman by 93 runs
Pakistan’s batting started with a wicket on the second ball as Shah Faisal dismissed Saim Ayub for a golden duck. Sahibzada Farhan and Mohammad Harris added 85 for the second wicket. Mohammad Haris scored 66 runs in 43 balls before getting out. Pakistan managed to score 160/7 runs in their 20 overs. Shah Faisal and Amir Kaleem were the pick of the bowlers as both players got three wickets each.
Saim Ayub may have a bad day with the ball, but he got two wickets in his first two overs. Basically, Oman lost their third wicket on 41 runs, and later it was a batting collapse. Eventually, they lost the other six wickets for just 10 runs.
At the end, they were all out on 67 and lost the match by 93 runs. Each Pakistani bowler got a wicket with Sufiyan Muqeem being the pick of the bowlers as he took two wickets for seven runs in 3 three overs.
Mohammad Haris was awarded the Man of the Match for his innings of 66 runs, which he scored in 43 balls. His innings included seven boundaries and three massive sixes. Pakistan also has a good positive net run rate of +4.650. Next up, they will face India on 14th September.
