The first-ever man to fall under a time of 18 minutes in the indoor 5000m race walk is Italy's Fortunato, who has just broken a record in (17:55.65).

9. Toshikazu Yamanishi (Athletics)

Japan's Yamanishi walked the distance of 20km in 1:16:10, thereby demolishing a world record in race walking that had been in place for 10 years.

Barkley beat a 26-year-old NFL record with 2,857 scrimmage yards in one season, made in the Super Bowl!

7. Jacob Kiplimo (Athletics)

Kiplimo of Uganda ran a brilliant half marathon in 56:42, which is a stunning improvement of 48 seconds from the previous world record.

American distance runner, Fisher, within six days, broke two indoor world records- the 3000m (7:22.91) and the 5000m (12:44.09).

Two world records were set by the Norwegian runner Ingebrigtsen in one indoor race: the one for the indoor 1500m (3:29.63) and the indoor mile (3:45.14).
