SA20 is a South African T20 domestic cricket league undergoing its third edition. The SA20 2025’s first match began on 9 January 2025 and will conclude on 8 February 2025. We will list the SA20 Winners for all their seasons in the primary section of the post.
The double round-robin format is for the leagues that have fewer participating teams. The SA20 2025 has six teams in the tournament, which means they follow the double round-robin format.
The total number of games is also higher due to this. The SA20 2025 has thirty-four games this season. After the group stages, the top four teams on the table advance to the playoff stage.
SA20 Winner and Runner-up list of all Season (2023-25)
The defending champions of the SA20 2025 league are the Sunrisers Eastern Cape. They also won the debut season of the SA20 league. They defeated the Pretoria Capitals and Durban’s Super Giants with ease.
SA20 2023: The Pretoria Capitals lost the match when Sunrisers Eastern Cape (SEC) chased their target in 16.2 overs.
SA20 2024: Durban’s Super Giants lost all their wickets to the SEC in the seventeenth over.

History of SA20
The SA20 league teams are bought by six IPL franchises, hence the similarity in their names and logos. SA20 was established after the failure of two leagues, such as the Mzansi Super League and the T20 Global League.
The Cricket South Africa (CSA) organized its first league in 2017 and named it the T20 Global League. However, the CSA canceled the league due to a shortage of sponsors and media partners.
CSA brought in the Mzansi Super League as a substitute for the T20 Global League in 2018. The league lasted for two years- 2018 and 2018. The MSL was on hold during 2020 and 2021 due to Covid-19. Eventually, the cancellation of MSL came through because it was unsuccessful.
After these two unsuccessful leagues, CSA established the SA20 league in 2023. It’s currently in its third edition and has been a massive success for CSA. Be sure to check the table of the SA20 Winner above after 8 February 2025 for the latest update.
